The Bridgemen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps will hold their first rehearsal in 17 years at noon on Jan. 9, at the St. Andrew’s School gymnasium, located at the corner of 4th Street and Broadway.

The first hour will be devoted to administrative functions, enrollment processing and equipment distribution. At 1 p.m., the corps will divide by Color Guard, Percussion, and Brass sections until 5:30 p.m.

The Bridgemen achieved national prominence and numerous championship honors as a competing Junior Drum Corps, representing the city from 1965 through 1987. The group re-established itself in June of 2004 as a Senior Alumni Corps. Its members now range in age from their 20s through 60s.

The first public appearance of the Bridgemen as a Senior unit will be in the Bayonne Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for May 30.

There is still room for those interested in performing with the Bridgemen. Anyone over the age of 21 with percussion, brass, or color guard experience is welcome to join.

Additional sponsors and donations for equipment are also needed. For more information about the Bridgemen, contact: The Bridgemen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, P.O. Box 354, Bayonne, NJ 07002 or via the internet at www.bridgemen.info.
