DCA Heads South for 2012

(dcacorps.org)

We invite you to join us at the spectacular Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, in the historic city of Annapolis, Maryland, for the 2012 DCA World Championships!

The charming maritime city will be ready for drum corps fans to enjoy and explore. Through the efforts of many, Annapolis has been preserved, taking visitors back to the time when George Washington and Thomas Jefferson walked its streets. Their presence is still felt today through the city’s historic buildings, pubs/restaurants and storytellers. Annapolis is 350 years young – a vibrant city, proud of its charming colonial heritage, while offering the latest in dining, accommodations, shopping, and entertainment. We’re very excited to bring our World Championships and Individual & Ensemble events to Maryland’s capital city!

Prelims, Finals, the Alumni Spectacular and the I&E events will all be held at the United States Naval Academy’s state of the art stadium complex. Its a beautiful facility with plenty of parking.

Since the inception of Drum Corps Associates in 1964, only four states have hosted the World Championship; New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. 2012 marks our first voyage south of the Mason-Dixon Line for the title show. The DCA team, consisting of Executive Officers Gil Silva, Larry Hershman, Glen Johnson, and Mike Corso, along with Championship Chairman Dick Eschenmann and Director of Operations Allen Buell will be working closely with the Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau, the Annapolis Mayor’s Office, the Restaurant Association of Maryland, and many of the local hotels and businesses to bring you an unforgettable championship. You’ll certainly want to bring the entire family!

So mark your calendars for a fantastic Labor Day Weekend 2012 in Annapolis, Maryland!
